Melissa Anderson

Melissa Anderson, a member of Stow Collaboration for Change

Melissa (she/her) graduated from the University of Akron, with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, and from the University of Phoenix, with a Master’s degree in Adult Education and Training. Melissa is mother to three wonderful children, and she’s passionate about teaching them, as well as other kids, to respect all people, regardless of background, and not succumb to implicit bias.

Melissa’s family moved to Stow when she was five years old, and she lived there for 32 years, before moving to Akron in April 2024. She was devastated to lose one of her friends, George Garrison, Jr., to suicide when they were freshmen at Stow-Munroe Falls High School, and worked tirelessly to help bring a memorial and scholarship to fruition, in his honor.
